Our story
LAURASAKS is a personal brand. It began in 2020 and takes its name from its designer, Laura Saks.
Laura is the heart and soul of the brand – she is the designer and the whole team.
Her aim is to create pieces that speak to her and to a wider audience, offering emotion and an easy, comfortable experience to the person wearing them. Besides jewellery, Laura also creates paintings, clothing and other design objects, all of which reflect her creativity.
Comfort and beauty are the words we always come back to, and our mission is to make pieces that are kind to the environment as well.
Recognition
Laura’s work has been recognised in the wider design world. She won Bruno 2020, the Estonian design award, for her earrings made from recycled eggshells – a mark of the innovation and originality in her work.
EGG jewellery was born from a search for ways to reuse.
Poultry eggshells – brown, white, greenish and grey hen’s eggs and speckled quail eggs.
Only natural dyes: beetroot, spirulina, mate tea, chlorella, red cabbage, logwood and charcoal – or the shell’s own tone.
The crushed shell is set by hand in bio-resin made from plant and agricultural materials, with 925 silver fittings. Every pair is unique.
Every pair begins as crushed eggshell.
